The engineer behind Rephina Software
Rephina Software Solutions is led by Mthobisi Nxumalo, a software engineer who designs, builds and runs complete software systems end to end — from the interface customers touch to the services, data and infrastructure behind it.
Working as the sole developer for a manufacturing group, he owns the full lifecycle of production web and mobile applications: shaping requirements, designing the architecture, writing the code, managing the databases, and deploying and maintaining everything in production. It's the kind of end-to-end ownership most small businesses can't reach without an entire in-house team.
Alongside that engineering depth sits a practical streak for automation — using software to remove repetitive work and tighten the way businesses operate day to day. That combination of building solid software and improving real processes is what Rephina was founded to offer.
He started Rephina on a simple belief: the quality usually reserved for large corporates should be within reach — and within budget — for the small and medium businesses that drive South Africa's economy.
